John Blackman, a veteran school administrator from Hailey, Idaho, was recently hired as the district’s HR Director. The position has been vacant since Diane Letendre resigned earlier this school year.
This is coming home for John who graduated from MSU before securing a job as an art teacher in Blaine County School District in Idaho. John played football for the Cats while completing his Art Education degree (don’t worry, he was an offensive lineman so we know he’ll be a team player).
The interview team was impressed that John is a great advocate for employees and believes that student learning is paramount. He brings years of experience as a Teacher, Principal, HR Director and Assistant Superintendent to this position.
John also does airbrush artwork in his spare time and painted all of Picabo Street’s ski helmets, including the tiger helmet she wore during her gold medal run. In the last Winter Olympics one of his helmets was worn by skeleton sledder Katie
John and his wife, Lisa, have four grown children and three grandchildren. Mr. Blackman will begin work on May 1, so look for him around our district.
