With the influx of substitute applications, please allow up to two weeks processing time. Thank you for your interest in becoming a substitute with Belgrade School District.
Applicants that hold a current Montana Educator License will need to have a background run by Universal Screening Company. Upon completion of the application, a link will be sent via email to start the background process. Once the results are returned and there are no concerns, Brittney Bateman will reach out to you directly to move forward with the next steps.
Applicants that do not hold a current Montana Educator License will need to complete a fingerprint based background check.
Substitute Applications, or other positions that require fingerprints, will not be processed until your background check is completed. To obtain a background check, fingerprints are required.
To get your fingerprints:
The Gallatin County Detention Center in Bozeman will process fingerprints. Substitutes are required to pay for the cost of the fingerprints of $15.00 cash or check only.
The Detention Center is located at 605 S. 16th in Bozeman between W. Koch and W. College off of South 19th .
Fingerprint testing is done:
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 3:00pm to 4:30pm
- Tuesday evening – 7:00pm to 8:30pm
- Saturday – 12:00pm to 2:00pm
To ensure times may not have changed, check out the website for most up to date timeframes.
Please bring your fingerprinting card and a signed/dated Application Rights and Consent to Fingerprint form to the Belgrade School Administration Office, Door 1, 312 North Weaver, Belgrade MT along with a check for $30.00 made out to Montana Criminal Records to complete the process.
You will also be required to complete a mandatory 3 hour training provided by the Office of Public Instruction. Once completed, you will be sent a certificate of completion that can be dropped off or emailed to Brittney Bateman.
