  • Work Ethic - A learner with a strong work ethic naturally works to the best of their ability.  They employ soft skills, academic skills, and are proud of the work they do.
  • Problem Solver - Learners who are problem solvers have a mindset of looking at different angles and considering all solutions.
  • Integrity - Learners who display integrity do the right thing, even when no one is watching.  They are trustworthy, honest, and respectful.
  • Critical Thinker - Learners who are critical thinkers can think clearly, rationally, and with some suspicion about what to do, think, and believe.
  • Confident - Confident learners deeply believe in their ability, worth, and potential to overcome challenges to succeed.  They have high expectations of those they work with and themselves.
  • Communicator - Learners with strong communication skills communicate responsibly through reading, writing, listening, and speaking.  They can use multiple media forms and creative tools and engage in thoughtful and respectful discussion.
  • Creative - A creative learner will evaluate and analyze their thinking as well as other’s perspectives/thinking.  They will ask questions and evaluate evidence to make informed decisions.  They have thinking, reasoning, and remembering flexibility and can problem solve in a variety of ways.

When discussing these results with the DOSA departments and District Leadership, we discovered an underlying theme related to confidence, mainly driven by student responses.  We concluded that having students graduate with the confidence to pursue their interests would be the overarching goal with the other six traits falling within the umbrella.
