Belgrade School District Notice of Annual School Election
Belgrade District #44 May 5th, 2026
Notice is hereby given by the undersigned District Clerk of Belgrade School District No. 44, Gallatin County, State of Montana that the Annual School Election will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, by mail ballot.
Trustee Election
The Election will be held for the purpose of electing two (2) Trustees for three-year (3) terms.
The four (4) candidates for such election are the following citizens, duly nominated by valid petitions as certified by the Clerk of said school district, according to the school laws of Montana authorizing to the election of school trustees:
Three-year Term (vote for 2)
- Ron Barnett
- Lila Beard
- Marie Boster
- Stephen (Scott) Muell
Operational Levies to be voted upon:
- Elementary School District
Shall the district be authorized to impose an increase in local taxes to support the general fund in the amount of $709,998.29 which is approximately 6.91 mills for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Belgrade Elementary School District? - Passage of this proposal will increase the annual taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $5.25, on a home with a market value of $300,000 by approximately $15.75, and on a home with a market value of $600,000 by approximately $33.66. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs. The durational limit of the levy is permanent once approved by voters, assuming the district levies that amount each year thereafter.
- High School District
Shall the district be authorized to impose an increase in local taxes to support the general fund in the amount of $441,866.32, which is approximately 4.19 mills for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Belgrade High School District? - Passage of this proposal will increase the annual taxes on a home with a market value of $100,000 by approximately $3.18, on a home with a market value of $300,000 by approximately $9.55, and on a home with a market value of $600,000 by approximately $20.41. An increase in property taxes may lead to an increase in rental costs. The durational limit of the levy is permanent once approved by voters, assuming the district levies that amount each year thereafter.
