Child Find

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) provides for identification and intervention for children from birth to age 21 through your local school district. This is a federal law to ensure children with disabilities receive the appropriate support, education, and services for their development and growth. With structured events such as free developmental screenings or one-on-one evaluations, the District team can help assess a child and determine if that child is eligible to receive special education and/or other related services. After the screening, the parent/guardian will receive a summary of the results and recommendations for next steps should additional follow up be needed.

Areas assessed during screening include:

Gross Motor Skills

Fine Motor Skills

Developmental Concepts

Hearing

Language/Communication

Social Skills
